Michiko to Hatchin Review – C-

A sexy and kind of sleazy prison escapee ends up taking care of a young girl.

I’d heard good things about it (it’s the next Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo), but ended up rather underwhelmed. Something about the script really bothers me. It was trying to hard to make the audience feel sympathy towards the characters. The entire first hald was just both main characters continually arguing and needing to rescue one another. To make things worse, neither of the two leads never developed that time. It got old quickly and the stories themselves weren’t particularly interesting. In fact, I found the whole show to be boring. But I did like  the ending as well as its setting and style. (The eyecatches were great.)

  • Story – C – A really cool setting, but the story never really went anywhere.
  • Characters – C- – It wasn’t until we were 3/4 of the way in until they actually started to develop.
  • Art – A- – It’s very stylish.
  • Music – B+ – The opening rocks.
  • Enjoyment – D-
  • Overall – C-

Recommendations: Cowboy Bebop, Madlax, Black Lagoon

I haven’t seen this yet, but I’d heard from other people it was good. I guess I’ll drop it down a few pegs in my queue.

Actually something I heard of, but was not on my watching list. Might pick it up later to see how it is.
